Joe Danger Review

Joe Danger is as simple as it is fun. The folks over at Hello Games did an amazing job using an old idea, (Excitebike), and making it an instant success.

The controls and ease of play made this game fun right out of the box… or in this case right after the download. It took a little while to master the controls, but the story moved right along with my skill level, getting a little more difficult as the levels progress was fun and worked well because I got better at landing tricks, and doing combos. Another added element is after your race it shows the scores your friends have gotten. It made it so I played the levels a couple times to try to get a better score.

The Multiplayer was pretty fun, but I wouldn’t get this game to only play with other people, the single player has so many levels and challenges that it will keep you busy.  Although this is definitely one of those games where you can pass the paddle each level with a friend. I have played for about 12 hours and have only progressed to 54%. The track creation is easy to use, while I am not too good at creating custom tracks I played around with it for a while and it has a ton of potential for users to make quality tracks.

It’s a fun storyline, and it makes it even more fun to progress and get Joe Danger back on track to be the best in the world. The trick combos, they ar

e simple but fun to pull off, and it is challenging to combo the level 100%. The star progression is put together nicely making it so you can’t just blow through the game and not look back, you have to get to know the levels to collect the stars so you can unlock the later levels and continue on.

I would highly recommend picking up this game on the PlayStation Network. It is a must have game, there are lots of things to collect or to accomplish, and this game is going to take quite a bit of time to finish. The replay value is pretty high if you want to keep trying to get better scores than your friends, or if you like creating custom tracks. Priced at $14.99 I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t pick this up.

9 out of 10 for Joe Danger.
